1-piece vs 2-piece Propshaft

Post by IndianaJones » Fri 27 Jan 2017, 17:39

Hi

Does anyone have some guidelines, on when to run a 1-piece/straight propshaft, versus when to use a 2-piece propshaft, a propshaft making use of a centre-bearing/carrier-bearing?

Is there limitations in length, or speed, or angle, or applied torque? What are they?

Perhaps pros and cons of each?

Regards

I haven't got measurements, but when I fitted the propshaft to the Ford, I was told it is at maximum length for the strength of the steel used.
