New acquisition

Post by ZA Perana » Sat 27 May 2017, 16:04

As the world moves to toward electric cars, hybrids as Australia says goodbye to its beloved Holden I decided now was the time to buy something of a dinosaur.

Found a Lumina SS which has been extensively well modified, 2.9 litre supercharger, fully built engine, various other mods and I guess in light of the above and after always wanting a supercharged V8 since I gazed at the article on a GMC blown Pontiac Firebird in CAR magazine, I stretched and bought this meticulously cared for one owner Lumina.

Whether I need over 850 NM of torque at 2000 rpm is another matter.....

I'll post some when get it. Its making around 405 kW at the wheels in JHB so its fairly strong. Initially I wanted to drive it back to Cape Town but just have far too much work to do at the moment. Road trip through some of the more obscure towns would have been interesting and interesting to note if SA still loved the V8.
