Found 2 speedos, incl. Shipping i wouldn't be cost 970 ZAR...

Checked the speedo cable all OK! It is the speedo that is making funny noises and vibration!
I need to take the speedo out and test, it might be repairable! 8O
I can scrape R1000 together! :mrgreen: Lets communicate details on PM! ;)

Not too difficult to remove!! :mrgreen:
Other option is to fit a GPS speedo!! :roll:

Here is my tribute to the Rekord "B" with its 8 month production run 8O , Gordon and I's time at GMSA, 8) The unique to SA McKinnon engine fitment. :D Starting to take shape! :mrgreen:

Have started on the Speedo conversion. ;) Will complete build on the new before shelving the current unit in one piece :mrgreen:
Tachometer fits perfectly!!
Busy identifying each connection. The new unit has a separate earth connection for each gauge and light function! 8O
The new unit will fit without having to cut or drill into dash! :D Going to take some time and planning!!

Instrument panel has been completed :D Now need to design the adapting frame that will hold the panel and the switches straight from the original panel! :mrgreen: Minimal wiring changes! ;) Using 6 ply marine wood!

My Rekord has a 3.67 diff 8O

Surface prepared with Spot Putty and sanded! To be sprayed tomorrow! :mrgreen:
Connectors fitted and each wire identified :D fit Pins to upper end of spacer and two locating holes at bottom edge! :mrgreen:
