This photo shows a strange cut pattern underneath the rear seat that extend across the floorpan and is the only evidence of a join at the back of the car. To me it looks almost like two pieces of the floorpan joined together in the manufacturing process but I'm not sure.

Very strange weld patter that, definitely post manufacture, I am 99% sure of that.

In terms of the top half of the car, the body looks quite solid in the pictures.

I speak under correction but I would assume you would need to take this for engine clearance? If so I would rather try and find out if this engine number is on the NATIS system already because engine clearance, at least in CT is a harrowing place, the yard is full of cars with issues, some of which never leave so before you actually take the car, rather try and find out if the engine number is on the system.

I would imagine the previous owner could help you here, do you have any idea when last this car was registered and where it spent the last 35 years?

There is currently no information on the engine number for this car on the NATIS system so I have started the application process and will go through the police clearance and apply for a new registration number. As one can imagine I have a long road ahead but it has to be done.
