Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

My friends, I have to apologise, I have been sitting racking my mind about this Alfa story and you are right. I have got confused with another car. I am sure it had a BRM engine in it. My mind isn't very clear anymore.

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

I can't remember clearly. I know it must have been international because Mike Hailwood was racing. The one Alfa that I remember was a dark blue sports car at Killarney three hours and he spun at Hoals Hoek or was it Quarry? I can't remember well enough now. I want to know which Alfa sports cars race...

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

I am interested to know about the Alfa Romeo sports cars that raced in the Springbok Series. Can anybody tell me who raced the first Alfa sports, what model car, who raced it and when? Are there any photographs of those cars?

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

I see your points of view and understand them. What if the oil companies had to sponsor an new Springbok series? They seem to have all the money in the world, or even the insurance companies. We have to pay lots for running of our cars and we have to pay lots to insure them and our lives, so why can...

GTV-6

Has anyone got some nice colour pictures of the racing Alfa Romeo GTV-6? I remember those cars. I cannot remember who drove them but they went very quickly in the 1970's.

These really are beautiful cars. You are very fortunate to have seen them.

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

I was thinking about the up-coming event to be held at Kyalami, being this 9 hour revival race. To me this is no revival. If they want to put on a revival then why not hold a proper 9 hour race with International cars? They can have a whole weekend of it. On the Saturday they race all the Historic c...

Re: Lino

I have read his postings and it seems he is a pationate person who loves his racing. If nobody listens to the all the gripes that we all put on then he gets upset. I don't blame him either,

What do you say, Lino?

Re: IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT!

I have been asleep for a while. When I saw this it made me upset. Many years ago thet broke down some lovely old buildings in Pretoria which can never be built again. Nowadays they are trying to change names. On the motoring front, they took away Roy Hesketh in Piermaritzburg and built factories and...
