Introduction

Hello all,

My name is Sheldon. I have been on the forum before, actually a few years ago.

I drive a 1983 Ford Cortina XR6. But I have a passion for all cars. :D

Cortina MK5 wiring diagram

Hi all.

I searched the forum and the web....no luck or I'm just hopeless on the search engines.

I'm in need of a wiring diagram for a mk5 Cortina, but also the wire colors.

If anyone has information it will be highly appreciated!

Welcome.

I would not do the triple Weber carbs...very expensive.

I'd try find a Meissner grind cam or a Richie Jute cam.
ZA Perana, are these still in circulation somewhere? Meissner? My dad had a big 6 2.5 in the 80's with the Meissner conversion and back then it was a machine.

Cortina mk5 rear lock mechanism

Good evening,

By any chance, does anyone have pics or a diagram of what/ how the rear lock mechanism should look like once assembled/ installed? I took mine apart over a year ago and now can't recall how to put it back. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Mobile stands

Hi Ters, correct. I'm busy with some renovations at home, and also have my car being renovated lol. So just want something that I can use to keep it clear from any damages during the home renovations

Mobile stands

Good evening, its been a while since I've been online. Hope everyone is good.
I need some info please. I need to source a place or person that can hire mobile stands. I'm in the process of refurbishing a car, but will need to move it around in the garage.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Scratched Glass

Hi All,

The door glass on my Cortina is scratched and looks K@K.

Any tips on how I can go about getting the scratches out?

I googled and got a number for a guy in Jhb, but he charges between R1000-R1500 per window

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Rust Issues

Thanks Kermit and Rassie.

@ Kermit, the problem is not on the windscreen section. It's a panel just below the windscreen. I will have to cut out the rust and fill it, but what can I fill it with to avoid the rust coming out again?
