Do anybody on the forum have an idea of what happened to Rassies’s stock of Ford spares after his passing?
I am busy restoring a 1974 ZF series Fairlane and I am looking for some parts.

Rassie,
It might be worth it to check on the Aussie sites.
I seem to remember that LPG conversions were quite big over there some years ago.

Re: Restoration prices?
Rassie, The way I do it is as follows: I am a one man show with one workshop assistant. I calculate what my total workshop overheads are (workshop rent, insurance, utilities, workshop fuel bill, my salary, my assistant's wages etc) This amount I divide by 99 (22 hours per week times 4.5 weeks) This ...

Re: No papers
Just me two cent's worth. We recently purchased a 1956 Series One Land Rover SWB that has just come out of a nut and bolt restoration. We were told that the paperwork is being sorted - that turned out not to be the case. Long story short: I had to go through the whole process from scratch. Police cl...

Welcome Nixon
The Galant was an excellent car, but with a very limited production run.
Drive train is fairly bulletproof, but you'll have to cultivate a relationship with the guys in the older spares shops.
The body was fairly soft and parts might be an issue.
Good luck.

Re: Fibre glass advice needed.
My fibreglass supplier is AMT Composites in Johannesburg. They supply a silicone mould kit. This allows you to cast a silicone mould of the piece. Once cured, the silicone mould easily removes from the master. You can then cast the piece out of fibreglass resin and once cured you are left with an ex...

Re: Restoration: where to begin
DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR. GET THE CAR IN YOUR NAME. This can be done without roadworthy. Sort out all outstanding fees and fines on the car. If the above does not pan out, walk away from the project, as it will end up burning you in the long run. While busy with the above, define your vision for the pro...
