Ford 302 Perana clone valve noise
After finally having headers fabricated for my 302w that has been standing for almost 2 years, I recently started the motor to ensure that everything was running fine. It ran okay and everything seemed fine but obviously very noisy with only the headers installed. I did not run it long and did not r...

Re: Best Autobox for 302w?
Thank you for the advice Rassie. I guess my thread was written in frustration because in Windhoek, I struggle to find anything for my car, let alone specific parts for a ford C4 transmission. We have a couple of shops that stock parts but their prices are a complete rip-off because they know they ar...

Re: Best Autobox for 302w?
Thanks for the info. I'm going to take the box out and replace the torque converter because mine had some minor scaring on the shaft that might be causing the leak. If it still leaks into the bellhousing after replacement, that will be the end of that C4 for me. I might try to get hold of a Lexus tr...

Best Autobox for 302w?
Hi All, Besides a Ford C4/C6, what is the best automatic transmission to run behind a Ford 302 Windsor without too much modification? I have converted my F100 from manual to C4 automatic. I rebuilt the C4 and replaced all clutches, seals and gaskets but did not replace any copper bushes because my k...

Re: Electric fan temperature switch
Thank you for the suggestions. I understand the reasoning behind having a switch fitted to the radiator but why not just use the correct fitting on the engine? Surely Ford wouldn't have placed the original switch there if it wasn't an effective method to measure the temperature? Btw, I have an after...

Electric fan temperature switch
Hi All. The radiator fan for my Ford 302 Windsor is currently controlled by the ignition meaning that it stays on permanently. I am looking to fit an electric fan temperature switch that screws into the intake manifold so that the fan will only turn on when the water temp is high enough. (70 degrees...

Re: Dual or single exhaust
Some interesting info in the links above. Yes, the headers look good. I'm really looking forward to getting the car running again and will most definitely enjoy it. It will be dual exhaust with 58mm pipe diameter and H connection. (I will also use mufflers towards the back and will exit just behind ...

Re: Dual or single exhaust
Thanks for all the info. I did some reading up on the Internet and saw some suggestions that the exhaust pipe diameter should be no more than 2.25 Inches (57.15mm). The guy that is going to make my exhaust pipe says he will use a 58MM pipe then. I am thinking of going dual exhaust with an H or X con...
