Re: Dieseling of Ranchero engine
Hey Lord T, please promise to keep off the subject of cams !!   To be honest I really thought that the minor tuning would be sufficient, but, I had ASSUMED that a brand new rebuild would imply that everything else was 100%. That said, it wasn't reassuring to read that the vac advance...

Re: Dieseling of Ranchero engine
LOL, me again,
This problem is bugging me !
You didn't answer if you've had dieseling since 0 kms until now.
Did the dieseling only start when the dizzy pipe was swapped from ported to manifold ?
Did it start just after you filled the tank ?

Re: Dieseling of Ranchero engine
Good afternoon Lord T of The Pontiac Manor :D ;) Good afternoon Danie, You can check that your plugs are Champion RC12YC or RV12YC, or equivalent, as those are the correct heat ratings. (I've shown 2 numbers as one is long reach and one is short reach.) I'm glad you noticed 'hands on' that there is ...

Re: Dieseling of Ranchero engine
Good afternoon Danie, Firstly, we won't mention the Lion's game. And secondly, to be fair, we won't mention the Stormer's game either ! Ok, points 1 to 3 are as expected, but, did you leave the timing at 15 ? (That's more curiosity than anything else coz 15 sounds too high) Point 4 is in...

Re: ford falcon: the biggest secret in the secondhand car ma
Good morning CBB, Glad I could be of help. :D I looked at my invoice and saw about 8 different things, so now I'm not 100% sure of the part numbers ! The descriptions on some of them were similar. Anyway, when I went there initially I took the drawing of the plug setup and told them what it wa...

Re: So lets dance
Nick ! What ? What do you think of this thread so far ? I think it's a crock of bollox. 8O Why didn't you say so before ? Well I was apprehensive and didn't want the moderators locking the thread, but they've now given it a green light, so the dance can proceed. :D Does 'Let's Dance' in this thread ...

Re: ford falcon: the biggest secret in the secondhand car ma
Hi CBB, and I hate dropping a gearbox sump when Im lying on my back below it...   Do you have a drain plug ? If not, look at TCI part number 805800, then, you can pop into Hyflo in Paarden Eiland and get one (I've got the part numbers if you want them) and ask Peter to fit the parts....

Re: So lets dance
Good afternoon Burt, Thank you for the dance invitation. I hope you don’t mind but I took the liberty of playing ‘Flying’ by a group called ‘Living Colour’. :D Ok, on your ‘firstly’, our phone chat was brief, but in it I asked you if you were based in Cape Town and you said no. !? That is a fact. Th...
