Re: EX VIANNA RACING 530MLE

I think 1978 could be about right, but regarding the MLE, it doesn't ring a bell. Then of course the old mind can't remember too many details!! I have got a picture of Viana in the 535i when he raced for Team Gunston. I thought he then moved away from these cars and into the BMW 3 series and ultimat...

Re: What was the best handling classic cars

I reckon the Mini Marcos can't be far out. This car held them off at Le Mans

Re: Lucky Strike Capris - Keizan and Mass/Glemser

I have it on reasonable authority that there is a replica of this car currently being built in the Mother City. It will be very interesting when it finally emerges.

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

Roger, I remember that car at Killarney. It was a very dark blue which I thought at the time was a funny colour for an Italian car. Not very much has been recorded about this car and as far as I remember it wasn't up at the front in the race. I had forgotten that it was driven by Charlton and Driver...

Re: Very sad news

This is a great senseless loss. There have been countless tributes from those who knew him and those of us who admired the talent this man had and the way he kept us entertained for so many years, be it in open wheelers or sharing the Lola T70 with Doug Serrurier in the Springbok Series. Here are so...

KILLARNEY - 5TH TO 8TH FEBRUARY

The proceedings kick off with an unveiling of the original Meissner Escort that won the 1969 SA Saloon Car Championship tomorrow evening at the WPMC clubhouse. Time is 7 for 7:30. Th...

Re: Why no 80's class?

As I said a while back, I'm in the same predicament. I get the feeling that they haven't got an 80's class because they are scared that it will be totally dominated by Golfs. If that happens there will be no chance for grand old ladies like Rovers, etc. I'm all for an 80's class but you don't want i...

Re: Why no 80's class?

I'm afraid I'm the same position. I race a 1981 Datsun Stanza in Fine (Marque) Cars down here in Cape Town and would love to race with the Classics boys. There may be a change in the rules in time to come, who knows?

Until that happens, do what Gavin suggests and get involved. ;)
