Re: What's the ZAR Ford date system?

Here in the USA: we started using the 17 digit VIN numbers starting 1981.

The first digit signified the country of origin:

1=USA
2=Canada
3=Mexico

Re: cars outside.(no space)

Its a 1961 pontiac strato chief with wrap around back window I want that 1961-------------I want that 1961. Heck: I will even live with the RHD! :lol: Now for irony; there was a 1961 Pontiac Parisienne 4 door hardtop living here in Arizona several years ago. It was an import from Canada albeit LHD ...

Re: A CAR as will be seen in the FUTURE!!

I was wondering about that 'T/A 400' on your hood scoop...........the last year of a 400 Pontiac/403 Olds V8 in any GM car here in the USA was 1979.

Although; a 400 SBC is plug 'n' play into a factory 305 SBC car provided the 400 specific flywheel and damper are used :)

Re: suspension

Here in Arizona USA aside from an emissions test for 1967+ cars/trucks-------we have no safety/road worthy inspection at all to renew one's vehicle license. Why they check smog on a 1967 vehicle is goofy..............aside from a PCV system, emission controls did not start till 1968 (1966 for Califo...

Re: 1956 Ford Customline V8

Aside from the different license plate style and the RHD-------------the above pics look like they were taken right here in Arizona or possibly California :)

The flora and terrain are so similar between RSA and here :D

Re: Impala- Front wheel drums to discs

I've been reading Shailins post about upgrading the brakes on his Cortina, and would also like some help please. I need to convert the front wheel drum brakes on my Impala to disc brakes. There are lots of Chevs (4100's, Rekords, etc) available for spares - would any of these work? Would I also nee...
