Re: 58 Chevy Build

Is the Chevy running now? I saw one like it late Saturday afternoon (22nd July) on the N1 near Durbanville/Bellville area. Looked fantastic! :D

If it was not you, then there is one very similar to yours running around there.

Re: Overheating issues

Its probably the gaskets. You can test it in a few ways: Sample of the water to be tested by radiator guys for combustion products. If positive, gaskets probably blown. Do a compression test, see if some cylinders are down. Another test is to fill your radiator (best when it is cold and also best to...

Re: Brake pedal suddenly dropped very low

Hi Kavesh - to isolate the problem, same old story. Put a vice grip on each rubber brake pipe and nip it closed. If your master cylinder is okay your pedal will be rock hard, and right at the top. Whilst sitting behind the wheel with your foot on the pedal get someone to remove the vice grips, one ...

Indy, that Cortina belongs to Paul Church. It is one of the existing Fine Car racers and just dressed up with the logo's and decals for the day for oom Koos' tribute. It is actually a 1600 4-cylinder.

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

Bmwmaniac,

The problem is to find the 6 cylinder chopper or trigger wheel. We are not sure what car that is from.

Not that I know of? Did you see another one somewhere? I know Arnold Lambert recently bought the Poulter Gunston car, so it should be down here in the Cape somewhere now.

Re: RIP Koos Swanepoel

So so sad to hear about Oom Koos' passing. One of the all time greats. In my mind while growing up, he personified local motorracing the way Frik du Preez personified Springbok rugby. In later years when I started fiddling and modifying cars (this was well before internet and cell phones), he was on...
