Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

Somewhere after the steelworks and while the Cortina made its way back, I finally got back to the Sierra's build. The shocks had been waiting for a couple of months, so they went in first along with my freshly modified and painted springs. I need to still drop the front to check ride height, maybe d...

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

Tx Ranger1. Must say it has been very interesting for me too to see the project laid out like this and also the timelines. Well I have maybe two weeks left in this year to work on the Sierra ( I have made some progress on it the past month or so) before closing up shop for the holidays. It should ge...

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

I am with you about the new paint Scorpionman. In fact, the next week when we were going to move the car back to my house I suggested we should all wear overcoats, white cotton gloves and hairnets! My request got ignored like a stop street, but my wheeler-dealer friend (who also built the Sierra's c...

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

With the Cortina now just about done and the Sierra still on hold, I had to get on with it, get the steelwork out and clean up. The weekend after I got those pics was a trip out to get the steel on site and installed. Happy with the result, but it was quite a lot of work, many hours into it. 2016102...

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

Looks awesome! I haven't been classic car racing in quite some time but this car will likely get me back to the track. As for gates, a friend of mine decided to make his own and the thing ended up being so heavy he had to fit the most powerful motor available. The guys that came to fetch to have it...

:D Snap on the workclothes, down to the same workboots! I think my pants has more holes and the jacket was a half torn off pocket.

I cannot beat those socks though..... ;)

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

As in most things, timing is everything. Just as I started to see some bright light at the end of the steelworks tunnel, I got the next batch of update pictures from Young's Body&Spray!! These had me properly excited. :D :D IMG-20161014-WA0006.jpg IMG-20161014-WA0007.jpg As KR said at the time, "Hey...

Re: MkII Cortina Perana V6 racer

It was now late August, going into September 2016. The last bit of steel to be made were the two big driveway gates. These things feels endless to make, so much welding. You get them basically together fairly quickly, but then have to still weld the bars everywhere. In total on this job I went throu...

Re: Chevy SB Cooling

I found some pics of mine (it is embarrasing actually, but when I wrote my first reply here, I had completely forgotten I have a SBC! :D ) This is what the 350 block looks like head on, red arrow shows the small port/hole for miniflow. Image072Block.jpg Another pic, I think from the block tha...
