Re: SIERRA XR8 RACE SUSPENSION SETUP
Hi Colin. There a number of factors at play here. Firstly, with regards the lock diff on a race car. Many cars run them versus an LS, however it does dictate a certain driving / cornering style. You come off the gas, brake and finish your down shifts in a straight line and then turn in on a slightl...

Re: SIERRA XR8 RACE SUSPENSION SETUP
Wow thanks for all the input guys. It looks like theres a lot more going on under the skin of those stock-looking finecars than we think. ;) ;) . Ksf what you are saying makes a lot of sense and its exactly what ive been experiencing under high speed braking. Feels like each front wheel is doing its...

Re: SIERRA XR8 RACE SUSPENSION SETUP
Thanks Johan. Yes i agree that the lsd would definitely improve the handling. However the car is not sliding around in the corners like you would expect a locked diff to do. Cornering grip is actually quite good. That being said the limited slip is definitely on my to-do list. The bigger problem is th...

Re: SIERRA XR8 RACE SUSPENSION SETUP
I am not an expert, but a locked diff in a racing car seems strange!... Yes, I also took note of that. I'm surprised that the car is not pushing its nose when you get on the gas in the corners.. Hi Gavin The front end does still push but only in the really tight corners.Basically only turns 1 and 2...

Re: Toyota gearboxes
Thanks for the info guys.Mine was off a 21r two litre engine. Probably the weakest of the lot. With regards to the bmw/getrag setup i have also used that one but from a 2.8 litre opel record. Same gearbox but with the conventional tail housing and splined output shaft instead of the bmw rubber coupli...

Re: Toyota gearboxes
Thanks guys.Very helpful info. Do you know of anybody who has run an R-series on a v8? Would like to know how it works and who makes the adaptors. I have used a w-series (21r) box behind a 351 windsor and it was completely useless. The toyota clutch plates are not up to the job of handling v8 torque....
