Re: Is this a Lucas system? Electronic ignition
I just had something similar fitted to the El Camino (six cylinder) The guys that did the conversion for me are Distributor Rebuild Center in Centurion. With the electronic coil it cost me R1600. The pickup they use is the same as the Uno Fire (looks the same is your pictures) and the electronic mod...

Remove all the gauges and switches, knobs and buttons. Take the dash (or car) down to your local Sign-A-Rama. Let them take a photo and have them digitise it for their laser cutter. Let them cut a template from some scrap material and check it on the dash for perfect fit everywhere. Then get some ve...

Re: 32 Ford Pick up Hot Rod
In the early 1980's there was a similar 32 Ford pickup for sale in Pretoria. It was selling for Cortina XR6 money and I could only afford Bantam money. 351 Fairmont GT engine, auto box, 9" diff. It was metalflake blue with darker blue flames on the fenders and dark blue velour interior. It had the t...

Re: 1976 Caprice v8
Very nice looking car you have there.
Here it was called the Chevrolet Caprice Classic.
It is actually an HZ series Holden Statesman.
For spares, I use Rarespares in Australia (www.rarespares.net.au)

Re: 327 Chevy V8 Starting woes
Measure the voltage at the starter. If for example, it is 13,5V at the battery, it must be 13,5V at the big terminal at the starter. If it does not give 13,5V at the starter, I suspect that you have a bad connection along the way. Resistance between the center of the + terminal and the battery clamp...

68 Mustang Notchback (another one)
This car crossed my path this morning. The car had recently arrived from Cape Town and I told the new owner that I would post some pictures on the forum and see if we can find any history of the car. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn104/jmvv/68%20Mustang/20150824_105254_zpsrksqu6p0.jpg http://i3...

Give Allen Y Brink engineers in Pretoria a call.
When I had the Galaxie's engine done earlier this year, they had a freshly built 21 stud flathead sitting in the shop.
If they can rebuild piston airplane engines, I think that a Flathead Ford is well within their scope
