1972 Fairlane 500

Hi all

it is with a heavy heart that i type this post, my Fairlane 500 zd is for sale R40 000 neg

Car was bought as a project last year October, matching numbers, even has all original windows with Transvaal reg numbers stamped on them, i havent done much since i got it, just major service and stripped out the complete interior so i could re do wiring and floor carpets, seats still good, drivers seat has a small tear and so does passanger seat, door panels perfect and original, dash has one crack were the centre speaker suppose to be, car has elec windows and power steering

car was resprayed last year Jan but was never cut and polished, all chrome work intact,

car is running condition,

351 Windsor Motor with auto column shift box
motor has less than 5000km since rebuild
Holley 4 Barrel Carb
Stage 3 Cams with head work
Edelbrok intake
Branches and free flow
20 thou pistons
this was the info i was given by previous owner

things that need to be done

Motor
Carb service ( has a slight flat spot)
Carb Gasket (leaks fuel between intake and carb)
Radiator has a leak some times 1 or 2 drops

Exterior
Body needs to be cut and polished
New Tyres needed
suspension needs to be done ( i have all the bushes, tie rods, wheel bearings and springs)

Interior
Completely stripped out ( have everything with me)
wiring needs to be looked at 90% is still factory stock, previous owner tapped into some of the wires

Reason for sale is i am moving Overseas and cant take the Fairlane with me. i will try and take out more pics tonight.

I`m sorry to hear that you can`t take him with you...
I`m also in the same dilemma, i might be going back to Brazil end of the year or try my luck in the Uk(i have Portuguese citizenship), so if Brazil it is, no Fairlane. But is possible to take the car with me to Uk.

I`m sorry to hear that you can`t take him with you...

Why no Fairlane in Brazil? Parts should be no issue since a very similar Fairlane was assembled/sold in Argentina unless the RHD is a problem. I know for a fact that you can legally import/register your car here in the USA since it's over 25 year old-----------RHD and all because it would be exempt from Federal emissions and safety regulations.

Why no Fairlane in Brazil? Parts should be no issue since a very similar Fairlane was assembled/sold in Argentina unless the RHD is a problem. I know for a fact that you can legally import/register your car here in the USA since it's over 25 year old-----------RHD and all because it would be exempt from Federal emissions and safety regulations.

Unfortunately no RHD cars allowed in Brazil...
Also the taxes/duties would kill: +-70% (those ba%$#rds)
The Fairlane that was made in Argentina was heavily based on the 68 American model, which had the doors and the "middle" of the car almost the same as the Galaxie that was made in Brazil between 67-83(believe it or not, they just had facelifts, the body was exactly the same as the 66 American Galaxie)

So, i won`t even bother with export there, also because i would like to buy a Maverick which is very popular in Brazil.
