Fairmont XW 1970 for sale.

Post by RASSIE » Fri 06 Feb 2015, 07:59

My good friend is selling his Fairmont GT. R.300k as is. No offers.
It may be the last Everglade XW in S.A. Speedo say 30 000 miles. It could be real! :D

Never local!
We got way too many load shedding and any normal person (not a petrol head) will buy 2 Merc's or BMW's with R.300k and go to Cape Town on a R.30k holiday.
OZ and/or NZ will take her! That is a large GT country.
Compare S.A. 1% petrol heads to a 80% V8 mad population!! And the poor rand do not help us!
My opinion!

Sure it will never sell local as it has a R100k markup in two weeks from buying it.

But then each to their own, GLWTS.

And thats the typical SA mentality right there.
Inquisition into what was paid for it, not the actual value of the car internationally.

Ive already had an offer on it for R250k. Which i turned down.

Why?

Who ever wants it should take for what ever price he/she wants to pay, and the owner is happy to accept, and where ever it goes are none of my business. If the owner/agent make such a big profit, good on them. The car is in any case lost here due to one greedy family member selling it without the rest consenting. (Long story, I am not prepared to discuss in public)

My first comment is not SA mentallity, nor Afrikaner male attitude, its was my personal view point, which I am entitled to I believe, end of story.

Turning down R250k, good on you! Your car you decide, go all out, why not.

As the saying goes:" Bought from a Boer, sold to a Brit."

GLWTS! :)

Why , because being the owner of a GT you would want the local market value to remain high ..... I met the owner of that car , he asked a price and got paid .....
