I have decided to sell one of my Rovers but I am not in a hurry to sell. UK import and has a 4.6lt, unfortunately the EFi was removed years ago by 2nd owner who then fitted a Offenhauser manifold and Holley carb. Ive since fitted a brand new Edelbrock/Weber 4bbl 500CFM carb and it runs much better.

My Rover Race car is 99% complete and nearly ready to roll, taken longer and cost more than expected.

thing is I have another SD1 that I also want to turn into a race car, a Group 1 spec as per UK

Been on a UK site add for 1 day now and I have 3 queries from the UK, interested parties, just under GBP 4000 so on the cheaper side of what they would pay in the UK, a clean nothing to spend Vitesse sells for GBP 15k. Ex Police cars are now sought after and are being restored back to original, 1 sold last year for the equivalent of R220,000.
The Police cars chassis numbers are slightly different to the normal Rovers chassis number so easy to identify. I have all the original documentation as well as the original registration docs when it was owned by the London Metropolitan police Dept I would have loved to turn it back into a Police car but costs of looking at the original police spec items would be costly and an issue to bring over
If a 1980 Ford Escort Sport can sell for R150k don't see why my Rover cant sell at R65 k.

I will post pics of my race car soon. it is now 99% done and ready to roll, I would not accept R250k for it it will be the best SD1 in SA by far

I wish :-) but you never know . The old SD1 is slowly increasing in value for good ones and with all the old Group 1 and Group A cars being restored and racing again in the UK it can only get better. There is a Group A (Replica) of the Barclay sponsored car for sale in the UK advertised at GBP 35k .
