Ford Big blocks offer fantastic low end torque and this is a good starting point to build a 400hp motor.

I have a Ford FE 390 Sub Assembly for sale.
It is a brand new rebuild with below parts :

New .040 Pistons and Rings.
New Main and Con rod bearings.
New Brass freeze plugs.

All engineering work and assembly done by Miclin Engineering in Pinetown.
Ready to drop in cam, heads etc for completion.
You wont rebuild your current block cheaper. All work is done for you and you can see exactly what you getting.
Casting numbers: C6ME-A Build Date : 6A17 = 1966 Jan 17

Perfect for a Ford F100 series Truck, 67 or up Mustang, ThunderBird, Galaxy etc.

There is a great opportunity for someone to build something different with a 390 as opposed to the normal 351/302 route.

if I manage to break my motor in my ford ranger and this isn't sold by them, I just may go this route

To give you some ideas...

Ford 390 FE - basic build - 9.75:1 with +.030 over hyper pistons, stock rods, stock crank. Edelbrock heads with no modifications, Peformer RPM intake, Edelbrock cam 235@.050, .572 lift, 108 duration and a 750 Edelbrock carb. Ran close Edelbrock's claimed horsepower - made 410 at 5500 RPM and 429 TQ.
