Mk3 Cortina bakkie spares
Hi Guys,
I just bought a very original 1976 Mk3 Cortina v6 bakkie (2 owner bakkie with 109 000km on the clock). Guy I bought it from is putting it through cor as part of the deal. Bakkie has no issues except the rear leaf spring rubber bushes are worn. Does anyone know where I might source these from locally, as in KZN. Even if its cheap chinese crap, just short term to get it through cor. I'll source decent stuff from the UK later, if I can't get it here.
cheers
Clint

Cortina LDV's is an South African product, was never officially sold in the UK, thus you have a greater chance of finding rear suspension parts here, than in the UK.
You should be able to get bushes from the normal parts outlets, Midas / Autozone.
Might just have to give the diameters, as it is an older vehicle.

Re: Mk3 Cortina bakkie spares
This is just my opinion. if you want a comfy ride and your not hot rodding or racing then go for rubber, the harder bushes just gives a harsher ride and if you are realy unlucky create issues when they start creating cracks in old supension components from being less compliant, also some need regular maintenance like greasing else they go very much squeeky squeeky.
Re: Mk3 Cortina bakkie spares
Thanks for the advice guys I came right with generic parts from the local Midas. Ters some pics below of the mk3 as requested. My 8 year old daughter Shelby insists I take her to school in the Cortina, she giggles every time to the sound of that v6 pulling off & my 15 year old son Cameron has already claimed it as his first car when he turns 18. The wife hates it can't please em all

Re: Mk3 Cortina bakkie spares
Very nice bakkie, glad to hear there will again be kids growing up with a Cortina.
How many members here, at some point had a Cortina in the family?
