Wicked to hear these stories that happened in PE back in the day Any pics of the Prefect (what motor & specs)and any of the other cars that street raced back then...Where did the guys innitially race?..at the Greenbushes airstrip and then at Perseverance until Scribante opened up? Pls let the pics & stories come oh ja,wouldn't mind owning a little Opel like that....it's a giant killer

Most of the Racing was at St Albans. Remember the coat hanger!!!
Just for your info; Most of us lived in the area between the North End swimming pool and the Sydenham Primary school! Some names;
Gordon Briggs, Cedric and Melvin Dodd, Fisher, Simpson, Paul Marais, Rusty Marais, Patrick O'Reilley, Wilson, Alfred Finlay, Rodger(Rocky) Mears, Harry Mears, Sellwyn Raeburg, Stephy Steyn, Samson, Cecil Coetser, Johann Grobler, Clive Futter, Buddy Arnfield, Reed, All from the same generation born during and just after WWII! Many of us born at the Salvation Army Mothers Home in Shepherd street!!

Here's mine I bought it as an abandonned project......with Toyota 20v engine and 5 speed etc....still lots of work ahead...it does have nice fibre glass spats to cover the wheels....
