Racing Chev Camaro
Re: Racing Chev Camaro
I saw this car last year at Zwartkops, and spoke to the owner. He was an English chap, and he told me that the car had a 302 chev motor in. I doubt that it is a genuine z/28 302 motor, one of the better small blocks motors of all time!! But indeed, it is a very nice car to see, especially in SA!!

Well, they do call them the holy trinity of muscle.... (maybe in a different order tho, swop the first two )

Ja, those Camaros were good looking. A couple of years back there was a modified one that raced at Piper Day at Killarney.

Those Camaros never raced in South Africa in their day. They only started coming to the country to race once the Historic movement began. In fact a person couldn't buy them either. They had to be imported.
On another topic someone wrote that Ford has missed out. I think Chev has also missed out definitely with the range of Camaros and Stingrays they could have sold and raced in South Africa in the past.

About this Camaro, it's a very nice example of street and race mix. Just the way it should be.

The Camaro belongs to Tim Boles from Isle of Man. Superb chap who has come out to the Feb international races for many years and is a very keen competitor. Have had a couple of fantastic dices with him in the CanAm and that car is very well sorted and driven. He has also shipped it various other international events over the years.
