Opel Manta A series

Post by johnw » Fri 11 Apr 2008, 18:24

Anybody on here got a manta? Grandpa gave me one about 15 years ago, so its been sitting and rusting in the garage. So now I really have to do something with it or get rid of it, so I was wondering if anyone else has one who could pass on some tips for rebuilding/modifying.

I'm planning a 3.0 V6 from a Nissan 300ZX, with the matching gearbox, maybe the diff too, need to do some serious homework first...

Thanks
J

Hi Stokkie,

Never did the 300zx thing, i ended up buying a rover sd1 for a parts car to do an engine swap, but now I'm in the process of selling that car, need to the space and so on.

I think I may end up doing a lexus v8 in the manta, if I can get hte money together. May be a while though... :|

post some pics of your manta, I'm always interested in seeing them

Lexus v8 will be too wide for the Mantas frame rails.

Hey!

A friend og mine is busy building his with a Turbo Opel 8v motor. He chucked the old 1.9 auto out and replaced it with a 2L 8v Opel Kadett motor, and I think he used an Opel Record gearbox. He is now in the process of building a Turbo application for it.

If you want, I can give you his number and you can talk to him about it??

My opinion would be to stick with the brand!
