Heard that it was built off a 323i donor base car and they tried to get it homologated with the 3.5l engine but MSA would have nothing of it so they had to settle for class B. non M3 E30 cars not the greatest handlers in any event :) Would be great to see how the car has weathered. Who owns it now?

Quite probable I have of my own which I may have taken back then. But in magazines I am sure I have seen quite a few. It will take a bit of time to find right now though but will keep you in mind. Remember that car, did'nt it have spots or graphics all over it ? Was white if I remember correctly.

Yes that's the Tony Vianna BMW that fell off the trailer on the way to Killarney. Left hand drive. Robbie Smith's one was probably rhd. but also not built as flat looking as this one. This thing used to fly he was running against the XR8 at the time if i remember correctly.

Saw a article and pictures of the Cavaleri (ex Viana) 745i in a magazine at the cafe last night.

Unfortunately did not note the name of the magazine but it was obviously a local magazine and most likely Jhb based.

Has anyone else seen it?

Lino you will probably enjoy it.

If need be I can get the magazine name & issue tonight.

Henry I'm almost sure I saw a photo the other day in my box-of-tricks with that 745 or could have been the modified one in Gunston colours ? Taken standing at Damps Dip.

I'll have a look for that magazine this evening you're right a major hero of mine. He Abel D'Oliveira and George Santana fellow Portugues compatriots sadly all have passed on.

No that was the older 535 BMW with either Nico Bianco or Abel D'Oliveira (Alfa GTV 2,5) behind him. I have photo of this same BMW SIDEWAYS's Sarel style through Damps Dip. These guys were woes. The Production Car scene today just cannot relive this and there are probably reasons why including corporate monster.

Just think how those 2,5 Alfa's sung chasing that 3,5 BMW. The BMW carrying more weight though.

I bought a few magazines last night (which are lying at home), but to add to HenryK
i think the magazine in question is the new Top Car...the one with the pic of GENERAL LEE on the cover...a nice article about the BMW
