ROVER SD1 V8.
I thought I would change my previous post about the Rover for historics in this section.
I will start with photos on the weekend.
My parts shipment arrived yesterday, 4 boxes full.so now the job of stripping and fitting all the new parts will start.I can't actually believe how cheap the parts are from the UK for these cars, I even received a discount. All the engine gaskets, intake manifold, head gaskets etc are half the price of buying them from the agents here.
I brought in indicator lenses, fuel guage sender in tank, full gasket set, full poly bush set with all the bolts, nuts washes etc, 4 pot front brake calipers, discs, pads. GAZ fully adjustable suspension kit with springs, and a lot of other items.
Apart from the suspension kit everything else is genuine Rover parts in genuine Rover boxes. The brand new front indicator lensed and fuel sender unit were cheaper to import than trying to negotiate for them from a local scrapyard.
All I need to get now is the Superlite 15 inch rims which I ordered.
Everyone might think I am mad but the parts shipment just for the Rover was just under R10k for everything.I have budgeted for about +-R18k to convert the car.So the car might owe me R38k in total..In the time I have owned this particular Rover it has cost me R350. in repairs and that was an alternator.
will get started on the car this weekend
I will post some pics as I go along.

Re: ROVER SD1 V8.
Thought I would also post this picture.
It is a 4.4ltr Rover V8 with all the right bits. A friend of mine has an MGC roadster with this motor fitted.very trick car.
I will take better pictures of the car and motor and post.

This is a cool car! Are you thinking of racing it or just for road use?
Keep going at it!

Re: ROVER SD1 V8.
Looking good Gavin.
Should be fun on the track. I used to drive a 2.6 from time to time when they were new. I remember it being suprisingly nimble for such a big car.
PS For those who don't know: Marque Cars = Zwartkops speak for Fine Cars
