This is really an interesting piece of history!
Many Motor cyclist turned to motor racing. Bernie Mariner was another that used to work at Scotts Garage in North End Port Elizabeth and also received his National Colours (Springbok). I used to see him everyday road testing anything from Nortons to Triumph Cubs!
I used to live in North End!! 8O
