Coenraad Spamer replica

Post by Johann65 » Mon 13 Apr 2009, 17:30

I have three DKW's Of which one can be restored as a Killarney - Spamer replica. If it is ok with Killarney Auto Clinic, I would like to proceed with the project.
Here is Coenraad Spamers DKW and the 58 DKW that I want to restore as number 34F!
The other Hardtop was a donor vehicle and is going.
The 4dr is complete and will be restored to original specs.

Hey Johan I have a fetish for the ring-ting-tings maybe swop you for a V8 !

As a kid an neighbour up the road had a green one with white roof that would ring-ting-ting downhill past our house every day. Not too many years ago the uncle passed on and that car totally ariginal still had been in the garage and was sold off when the auntie moved out.

Then a neighbour across the road, she had a boyfriend that used to arrive there with his ring-ting-ting. Whenever we'd be working on our suped up 50's and heard this motorised outbourd motor we'd drop everything and listen to it arrive or leave.

So then myself and my brother ended up with a few of them, Suzuki GT750's, my altime favourite bike on which we build dreams on as kids.

Now it would nice to have one with a roof !

The 4dr is "VROT" :? and the 1000S will be kept. :) So hopefully I will end up with a 1000s and a Coenraad Spamer racer. Both engines I have are in running order!!! :D The exhaust sytem is as heavy as the engine!!

Hubcap gave some interesting info regarding Coen Spamers DKW. Based on that, I will not proceed with the replica as there is already one in existence. Perhaps I should design and build my own Deek tourer! I will keep all posted on the Rmmm Kring Kring Topic! watch that topic! ;) Mini Muscle car!

Johann, pleaase share that info with us, do it on a need to know basis. This is a soft spot on this forum....to many people share information in PM's and the rest of us do not benefit out of it. Thats why i said previously... do away with the PM's. If you need to tell something to someone and you dont want him to know....ask his email adress.
If its a secret, dont mention it. This is supposed to be an open forum...

Gordini, go to the Rmmmmm Kring Kring Kring = two stroke topic and you will find Hubcaps interesting comments. I intend to make use of his knowledge and share my progress on that topic.
