Ren8gor - welcome.

I don't remember R8s with the 16 engine racing at the sort of time. They seemed to filter in when R8's started racing in historics. But get your car sorted and even with a 16 engine it will be accepted into Fine cars. Are you in CT?

Welcome Ren8gor.

You've found the right forum.

Lots of enthusiastic Classic end Fine Car racers around.

I speak under correction but think special concession has been made for TS engine to be used in R8. I think the R8 presently raced by Lynton Coomer is TS powered.

Will check tonight at Classic Car meeting and advise tomorrow.

Why don't you join us tonight at Killarney. Meeting starts at +- 19h30, but come early for some refreshments. Nice bunch of guys all crazy about their Classic saloons.

See your car is fitted with Delta mags. Excellent and real period pieces.

I think many people have forgotten how quick an R8 Gordini can be.

Welcome to Killarney

Well said Henry. I think I'll go along this evening just to see what it's all about.

It would be nice to say hi to ren8.

Hi guys,

This will not be my first time on the circuit. I also race a rather slow class f clubmans car as a bit of a stop gap until the R8 is going. So I will be there on Saturday. Unfortunately cannot make tonight, business commitments. You are right about Lytton Coomers car. It does run a TS motor. As does Peter Harrison in his R10. I have also checked and the motor is eligible since it is deemed to be "period" and Gordini motors are RARE!!. I would however like to keep in the spirit of originality and it would be nice to identify a race car that ran that way and do a race replica. At present it has been resprayed and again has the white stripe on the side as was the style with the SA ones. The roof is now also white. Sorry cant be there tonight, but maybe next time.

Pity you weren't there. We had a good time talking. What car are you driving on Saturday? Hopefully see you there.
