That REALLY is nice. I love the R8' Gordini. Is yours a genuine Gordini? One of the cars on my "desirable" list.

Car looks almost ready.
See rollcage, racing seat and belts are fitted.
What else is required before the debut?
From pictures the car looks almost too good to race.

Hi Car is almost ready to rumble. Small irritating things left. Like window winders / bleeding brakes/ balancing carbs etc etc etc. Hopefully be ready for a bit of a shakedown on Sunday. Car is genuine gordini body but not original engine and gearbox. It has turned out into a rather nice car that may well be too good to race. I set about building a historics car that would remain street legal. Its now very hard and low, a bit like a go kart so probably not the ideal commuter scoot. But I think i'd have to butcher the car quite a bit if it was to be competitive. Perspex windows etc, coolant pipes through the car. probably things I will be a little reluctant to do. Anyhow, one step at a time. Fine cars first then take it from there.

Jeez, don't butcher that! Rather stick it into Fine Cars. Get another shell and butcher that rather....
Re: Scamp Porter X128 Renault Gordini
My thoughts exactly, Perhaps track down one that is already a race car?
My wife would be sure to object??????.
The problem is that it is already halfway race car. Roll cages, stiff suspension etc. so not really a great road car either. The roll cage has been built so that the back cross brace piece can be unbolted and removed from the car so that the back seat can be refitted between meetings. Front side bars can also be unbolted so that only half cage remains.

Yes, that car of yours is very nice. I don't think it should get messed up in Fine Cars. It would be nice to get hold of a R10 as well. There are a couple of Renaults I've seen in the pits.
Who did your roll cage?

Hi all,
Ren8gor has asked me to post a few pics of my Gordini that I am busy fixing up for racing at Killarney. I still have to fit the rollcage, put new rings and cam in the 16 TSand sort out a few minors but if thats done then I should be ready to race. It is amazing how simple the car is put together and how easy it is to work on it.
Hope to see you all soon at Killarney.

Hi nic4
Welcome to the forum. Looks like it's coming on! With two R8's, what can we say? Awesome! We look forward to you guys coming out. I'm starting the preparation of a Stanza, which hopefully, will be ready in July.
I just hope the goings on a Killarney will have been put to rest by then, or we won't see each other for a while yet!
