Do you guys remember the Simca V8. Think it was called the Vedette and was quite a small little car and also very small engine capacity for a V8. Cant remember exactly all about the car as I was still a laaitie. Anyone got some details and a few pics?

It was a small car for its era, my dad had one....i think it had a old style sidevalve V8 in it. There was one for sale in the Junkmail a couple of months ago

Do you remember the Simca Arondes that were raced by Eric Adler, John Conchie and others in the early 60's. It is a bit hazy as I was a lighty then but they were quite competitive. Got an image of Adler racing one somewhere.

Those Simca Vedettes used the Ford 60 bhp sidevalve V8 engines.

Simca was French.

In their heydays they teamed up with Matra to race the magnificent F1 cars and then moved into sports cars, both with great success.
