There was one of these floating around Cape Town a little while ago. I saw it at Killarney by a friends workshop. Gold in colour, beige leather interior I think it had, a very nice one or nicely restored one.

Well, this car seems to be about the same size as the Galaxy. I think they must have shared most parts and maybe even the chassis. Was it available only in two door hardtop or was there other variants as well?

How about the Daimler from the late fifties, early sixties? I don't know the model, I just know it was an open top sports car, looking similar to a Sunbeam Tiger , but much bigger. Has anyone got any further info on this car?

Ok, I found one. Well, maybe not quite like the Tiger. Who knows about this beast?

Daimler Dart SP250

Looks are an aquired taste.

Not a bad car in its day - 2.5 V8, 4 wheel discs, fibreglass shell.

Still quite a few knocking around here in the UK. They make good money upto £30 000 for a good one.

Cant recall ever seeing a car like that her in South Africa. I like the lines. Must be a Rover V8 engine in there?

I believe it was a Daimler V8 engine. This was quite a car with good performance. We used to have them in this country albeit only a few but in bygone years I remember seeing them from time to time.

This was the car that prevented the GSM Dart from being called a Dart in the UK. Daimler had a trademark on the Dart name so the GSM was sold as a Delta in the UK.

Talking about Darts, I wonder how many GSM darts and flamingos are left. Do you guys ever see any of them? The flamingo is a nicely designed little car for me.
