A great looking car, spent quite a bit of time talking to Doug, he has know the car since it was converted back in 1973, Keith Anderson being a friend of his.

Whats dissapointing though is the article, its a just a summary of the TechniCar road test.....

This car is like a time warp, even though its been restored it remains very orginal, has all its orginal parts, really a very special car.
Alfa GTV 3.0
Ford Capri Perana V8
Chevy Lumina Supercharged

Wait not for tomorrow to do what can be done today, live each day for one knows not what the next day may hold.

Yes these were great cars. I worked with a guy who had an orange one with black racing stripes down the sides. If I remember correctly he put this thing on the track but it didn't last long and disappeared. It was an automatic.

I reckon with a proper manual shift and nice mods something like this could be made into a real beast.

theres a guy in salt river above the main road who was selling a charger a few years back. they were just plymouth dusters rebadged and with a different grille.
not a thing on the australian chargers especially the e49 6 cylinder 6 pack.
check it out

In aus they are now valuing at AU$300000 and the 1971 Ford XY GT HO's around the AU$700-750000 mark.

That really is a sweet looking car... I have never seen one in real life, I used to be a bit of a fan of the Aussie charger, also a valiant. How much are these cars worth today? ... they seem to be very scarce!

The RSA chargers came from the factory in only 6 cylinder - therefore they are not very desireable and are quite cheap.

Did they come out with the slant 6... 265? ... this was what a lot of the Aussie chargers came out with and at the time they were giving the V8s a very good run for their money

In my opinion the comparison between the styling of the Aussie car and the SA car, we come out tops! I wouldn't mind one of those and drop a Chrysler 383 motor in. They are all of the same vintage.

Which one comes out tops? ... trying to work out if you are Aussie or SA. Im an Aussie but I must say I like the lines of the SA charger, I think it looks a bit more like a true muscle car although it only came out with a six... and it would go very nicely with the 383 I agree.
