What a poephol!! (want to use another word that starts out the same....)
This oke really doesn't have a business brain! - he is telling his client(by only offering to pay his 'cost' back) that he makes a 100% + profit!!, he is obviously not the sharpest tool in the box!!!
RACECAR spelt backwards spells RACECAR.....

Thanks for the advice guys.

I plan on going the small claims court route. I will have to give him 14 days on receipt of a letter of demand to refund my due, thereafter, to court. I'm not sure how busy this court is, but I see it will take me into the new year.

The lesson learnt with this is do not trust anyone you do not know. Everything right down to the last detail must be obtained in writing prior to concluding a transaction.

Will let you know how it pans out.

Kind regards
K

Hi All,

On the topic of windscreens, who or where can I try to get a new windscreen for a 1967 Ford Galaxie?

Hi all

This has been a long drawn out process. Finally got my day in court!

The supplier did not show up as i'm sure he realised that he had no case to defend. I was awarded judgement by default. Court has now sent him the judegment asking for payment. He has 10 working days to pay otherwise a warrant of execution will be issued to attach his assets.

This was a really hard lesson to learn. It now makes it so much more difficult to trust someone that you do not know.

Very happy that you got it sorted.

However I have always wondered why it is needed to go to these extremes. Why can't people not just accept that they made a mistake :?:

Its been a while since my day in court.

The court order was ignored after the sheriff delivered the summons to pay.

I subsequently went back to court and obtained a warrant of execution which the sheriff tried to deliver. Windscreen guy has now moved house!!!

I cannot believe how difficult this process is. Its been costing me more and more money to get the sheriff to deliver the court papers, but then nothing comes of it.

I have decided to cut my losses and hope this bastard's karma comes sooner rather than later.

Hard lesson learnt, do not trust anyone you do not know.

Well,

Sorry to hear that you still have not been sorted, I think now is a good time to name and shame this idiot, also if he is in the PTA or JHB area feel free to send me the details you have of him and maybe we can arrange something.

I would be glad to help.

Cheers

Billy the Kid i agree with you NAME AND SHAME the ba@$%&ds who do this to honest people . In the era you wanted to have lived in it would have been sorted out by a good old gun fight in the main road of town , no questions asked . :x :x :x . In the short time i have been reading the forum , there have been quite a number of incidences were guys have lost money or even cares and yet no one names the culprits . If there are any members with legal knowledge lets us know if NAMING on a forum can be done without complications either to the member or the AMCF itself . The first time some one rips me off with a deal i will not hesitate to name the person or the company .
