Advice on repaired mag

Post by Shaunp » Sat 16 Jul 2016, 18:42

Hi guys. Please advise. Just found out that one of the mags I bought was repaired. I cannot get the reason why it was repaired and am worried about safety. Not sure how bad it was damaged. What is your take. What can I look out for. The mag looks good.

Losing air (hairline cracks...water bath)? Have it balanced and see if excessive "wobble" present etc.?

Lots of professional mag repair shops around, have a good reputable one assess.

It also depends where it was repaired , sometimes it's just the outer lip that's repaired ... Anyway if you're really concerned most top mag repair shops can x-ray them

If you in Cape Town, I had a rim repaired by " wheel collision" in Montague Gardens. Excellent service and good peace of mind. They x ray and give you a full report.
