I have a friend when I was small and they had one. I also use to have a toy car NSU. Very rare. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSU_Ro_80

Re: NSU RO 80
Hano,
Great cars - very sophisticated for their day. They had issues with the rotor seals, and many were re-engined with Mazda rotaries. I believe that these days rotor seal technology is better understood and the NSU Wankel can be made to work reliably.
Obviously much more valuable with an original NSU engine.

Unfortunately this one has a Ford v6 and auto box. One of the best conversions Ive seen, but ja , if only the originals were still available.

Well as John says they were very quirky and used fuel at one helluva rate and reliability was not great....very advanced car for its time though.hanov0 wrote:Unfortunately this one has a Ford v6 and auto box. One of the best conversions Ive seen, but ja , if only the originals were still available.

It's a stylish car whatever it is powered by. Could be fun with a V6. Might be worth considering if the price is right.

Re: NSU RO 80
A friend of mine has a pair of 1200 NSU's but they're not rotary. One is almost complete, he's going to race it.
That's how I roll. Down the hill 'cause the car won't start and the brakes don't work.
