Hey guys, so have you seen the louvers (don't know if its spelled like that) on the side windows of a Ford Perana... I've never noticed it until today that I went over the pics of the cars I can buy? We're they stick of aftermarket, seems aftermarket but definitely period correct? The car also has a sunroof which I don't think is std but also seems to be as old as the car....

Sorry for the picture of a picture...

Definitely not standard, my guess is these were purchased from one of the many accessory shops who sold such add items in period.

In terms of a sunroof , again might have been installed in period. Is this your car? If so I wouldn't remove these period items because they give the car character. What I can see of the car, appears to be in good condition.

This car seems to have a few other mods, but they all seem to be as old as the car... The original wheels at the back seems to be wider then other pics I've seen, sorry don't have a pic of it but will take one next time and the car has a wing on, also the first time I've seen this??
The motor has some polished pieces, the car has been standing a while that's why its so dirty...

You can also see the "twin pop up sunroof" on the pic, again sorry for the pic of a pic, it's just easier...

Few things jump out at me, the sun roof is period, I have adverts in period magazines for those sorts of sunroofs. Engine bay, no radiator or battery. I would put a cloth in the intake pipe to stop dust getting into the engine.

Rear wing, again period.

Engine bay wise, different fan blade, the chrome tappet covers and the air cleaner are correct.

Hi guys.

Talking about louvres. Was anything ever unavailable for the Chevy Firenza. The 4 door specifically. I have a very original car and would love to swap its standard steelie rims for some minilites and pop a louvre on the rear window.

Regards
Richard

Hi, Interesting car.
I have seen those louvers on a few German Capri's so they could have been imported.
The rear wing was a Basil Green accessory like the rear window louvers.

I thought the BG wing was a lip like on Z181?

No, it is the one shown on this car, I had two of them and sent one to NZ. It was modelled on the Mustang Fastback one.
I have the BG magazine add for them on my computer at home. I will post it here later.

Looks like one of these aftermarket Basil Green Airofoils (Technicar advert from 1972) - I hope the picture shows as I'm not sure I loaded it correctly
