PM Messages stuck in Outbox

My PM messages are stuck in outbox.
Sent from my work PC and from cell.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I could figure out the messages "stay" in your outbox untill it is read by the other person. Sort of a way to get a read receipt. In other words, don't worry, your messages have been sent.
