just another car tragic...
G'day all.
Been looking for cars to purchase from Sth Africa and stumbled on this forum. Had a bit of read through some of the posts and seems like this place is full of real enthusiast, guys... and girls, that just love the topic of Muscle Cars.
A bit about me. My name is Vinny, reside in Melbourne Australia. Big GM fan but am more than appreciative of what it takes to build a car, so basically, if you've got a nice car, cool, who cares what badge it wears.
Daily driver, 2004 Holden Adventra, 5.7ltr, 4sp auto, AWD.
Project awaiting rebuild, 1978 Holden HX 1 tonner. 5ltr, auto.
Past rides... many, but a few notable. '73 LJ Torana, 6cyl, triple carbs auto(3500rpm stall) 12.5 sec all day long.
'66 HR Holden sedan. 6cyl, 4 sp man.
'78 HX Holden Wagon 5ltr V8 4sp man.
'62 Chev Bel Air sedan, rhd australian delivery, 383 4sp auto.
And many others... all in all about 40 cars over the years.
Thats it for now. Hope to get back on regularly and check on whats happening.

Welcome.
I had to google your current car, never knew they made it in an estate version.
You'll see that I drive one of your preferred cars as well. Here it is known as a Chevrolet Lumina Ute.

Re: just another car tragic...
yep the 2010 ute you drive is a rwd, the thing about the Adventra, its an AWD, I think from memory the split is 32% front 68% rear. It makes 250kw and goes like a rocket, never looses traction... Don't lose to many traffic light drags in it, even against some fast/expensive European cars.lumi-fan wrote:Welcome.

I also have Toyota Hilux 4x4 i'm about to sell, to buy another Adventra... this will be the new toy. Fit a C.A.P.A. supercharger taking power to 440kw. Then making it look as innocent as possible, so no flashy wheels, no awesome paint... just a real fast "Street Sleeper" .

I will get some pics of my cars up soon, just gotta get them online first.neresh wrote:welcome - post up pics of your car - would love to see the AWD configuration as well .
In the meantime I can give a few pics of very similar vehicles.
The AWD configuration was a $125million AUD development by Holden, this vehicle is awesome. Will go lots of places a2wd won't get... and damn, IT'S QUICK!
The HX 1 tonner looks exactly like this.
Adventra looks like this.

Never heard of that. How does it compare to the Magna MP1900 charger?crashing dog wrote:yep the 2010 ute you drive is a rwd, the thing about the Adventra, its an AWD, I think from memory the split is 32% front 68% rear. G'day Lumi-fan.
I'm guessing that is the same as the Eaton 1900, which is also available in a 2300.
Made by Magnuson Products in the USA.
You can check out all the goodies that CAPA has at their website.
