New member from New Zealand

Post by Ren@ult10 » Mon 21 Jul 2014, 11:29

Hi, I've just joined the forum today. My name is Henry, I'm an ex S. African(Durban) now living in Christchurch, New Zealand for the last 9 years.
I owned a Renault 10 Alconi, 1100cc, in the late 60's and a R10, 1300 in the early 70's.
I now own a rust-free 1970 R10, 1300 with Alconi style upgrades, including DCD Weber, extractor exhaust, wider wheels, etc, as well as new replica Alconi badges, arranged for me by other ex. S.African on-line Renault buddies, both in N.Z. and Australia.
I used to travel regularly to Kyalami to the 9-hour races and the G.P.'s as well as most of the Roy Hesketh meetings, so remember well the classic racers, from the mini's to the Chevy Can-Ams.
I'm looking forward to reading the articles and checking out the photos on this forum.

Cheers, Henry

Welcome Henry,

I too owned a R10 Alconi in the early 80's, was white with red stripes down the side.

Was nearly as quick off the line as my 3000L Capri. Very fun to drive.

Pics of your cars would be most welcome.

Cheers.
