Need pictures of the tags and engine bay , rear of the car and the dashboard , even if the car left South Africa as an original ( if it ever did) we have no idea what's been done since then , the more info you can get the better ... I see one of our Perana guru's posted a pic of no 266 when still here but that's long ago ...

Hi my reason I am questioning its originality is the current owner has no paper work with car & knows nothing about the car prior to being restored in South Africa , which I find strange , wiggy 333 on the forum bought a PERANA from the same guy in australia & he made the comment that PERANA 266 is not a original car , I have asked wiggy 333 but has not been on forum for a while , I always buy my cars or bikes with some sort of verification / history . What is the going price for a restored CAPRI PERANA .
Thanks mick .

It appears this car has much confusion. Firstly I have never seen BG266 in person. I believe it is an original Perana but I have no idea how original it is. I have never stated this car is a fake rebadged or reshelled.
Sometime around 2015 it was for sale here in Australia and at the same time it was being sold in South Africa by a scammer wanting deposits without people seeing the car. I mentioned in the comments that I trust the car to be a true Perana but at the same time some scammer had taken the true for sale pictures and grafted in their own with the cheap fake badges.
So to clear it up from what I said was the pictures of the scammer were fake Perana Tags while the real BG266 has its original tags and is in Australia. I say again I have never seen the car so cannot comment on its originality aside from saying I know it’s badges were real. It has been in magazine articles over here in OZ and is a beautiful Perana. Please read the entire forum of Perana scam to work out what was said. I have read other comments on this car but again I have no dealings with this car to comment.
Hope that sorts out any confusion.
