Post by zyl.3157 » Wed 03 Jan 2018, 21:59

I have no vent front xj6 brakes on my shamrock Cobra. What is the best way to upgrade the brakes. Regards

You need the vented disks and calipers from a series 2 , you can get the disks drilled and heat treated for small money and use ebc yellowstuff pads will stop like a Ferrari

If you really need to upgrade (and I don't see why, unless you go racing or downhill), get the spacers and buy the S2 vented disks (not cheap!).
Then you still have 3(?) instead of 4(?) piston calipers, but what stops a "2-ton" XJ can stop any 1.2 ton Cobra.

Original 427 Cobras in the 60 had non-vented disks.
Nothing is as it seems!
