A buddy in our little village of Kleinmond drowned his 3 litre Leisure Cortina bakkie a while ago. This happened in the early hours of the morning while launching his boat. While the owner was getting the boat sorted, his mate drove the bakkie further down the slip, not perhaps knowing that the handbrake was a little bit "klaar". So, in the end the bakkie went with trailer and boat into the sea.
As there was nothing they could do, the boys went onto their business for fishing and only came back much later that day. After a week or so of cleaning, flushing, drinking, betting, more cleaning etc. the "Fordjie" finally woke up again!!!
It's still going months after this dip-dip and is owner still using it to launch his boat.
