I stay in Cape Town, live in a complex, unit is owned by the company I am employed by. Every single day I have to endure abuse from my rather elderly neighbours. It's either I talk too loudly in my garden, I have the tv on too loud in my bedroom, my washing machine is too noisy, my parking is pathetic apparently, I race through the complex every morning, my car is too loud (Hyundai Getz is loud LOL), my wife takes up all the laundry space on the communal lines, I have too many parts in my garden (yeah because 2 golf bumpers are too many parts), my braai fire smoke affects the(skottle but anyway) etc etc etc

It's getting to a point where I am under constant scrutiny from them and it is practically harassment. I got back home at 1am the other morning and they blocked my parking so that I had to park in the guest parking.

What burns me the most is that if you are 25 years old, you have no right to question the views of senior citizens as that is disrespect, even if they throw racial epithets at you  (my neighbour reckons that he used to shoot "koelies" for fun back in the good old days when he was in the army, as well as passing remarks at my wife if she is outside in our garden.)

I have a meeting with the body corporate tonight, I just hope that this can be resolved, because all efforts to be amicable with them has failed. And 3 months of living here is starting to seriously piss me off to the point where all rational judgement goes out of the window 8O
Hope your problems are solved with the meeting , if not , invite the c#*t over , then a couple of your "koelie" buddies and have him tell them the story about shooting them for fun , then stand back and watch how that works out for him .
Was a very interesting meeting. I kept calm and just let the old people rant and rave at our supposed wretchedness

I stated my case as everything happened, the body corporate isn't very amused. They were even more shocked at some of his racist remarks openly made, as our complex is very multi-racial and generally everyone lives in harmony, so they will be taking further action. Recorded everything just in case. Best part was that I could prove that 95% of his claims are pure bullshit, the only thing that counted against me was keeping car parts in our garden, that's not allowed ;)

I do hope that this will be the end of it, the old man threatened to shoot us "for causing them this trouble" - This was said in front of the body corporate as the meeting was dismissed and we were all walking out so only strengthened our case further

Anyway. Just have to see what happens now!

Metro Cops doing point duty in Peak hour traffic.
What a royal bugger-up.
In stead of regulating traffic they work against the traffic lights, Stops traffic when light is green and motions to go when red.
Mr. Taxi driver does not care. red, green what ever , just go. Then Traffic cop goes an fight with taxi driver, then everybody decides "LET'S DRIVE!" Which causes even more of a bugger-up.
Took 25 minutes to travel 4 city blocks in Braamfontein.
Whenever they are not there , what a pleasure.

Think it's my turn to moan - Our shop is on the main street, with parallel parking next to the street... Lately the 'pirate' taxis (idiots using private, mostly unroadworthy cars to ferry others in and out of town to a nearby 'settlement') have been taking over all the parking spaces. They would then continue to use our stoep as a rest station a la taxi-waiting-lounge, and they'd stand in front of the shop on the sidewalk and yell at someone a block away that there's a taxi available here... They're extremely arrogant, as the speedies don't do anything to them, and when we chase them off, they just come back and basically laugh in our faces.
I think we need a few big okes like 68barracuda and co. to come 'help' them away...

Also had two tsotsis come into the shop today, where they proceeded to plan how they'll break in there - I was watching the one motion to the other the route they had to take through the ceiling, where to get into my brother's side of the shop (where he runs his PC shop), etc... Now I don't understand the language, but I'm not stupid. I could read his whole plan just by following his eyes and hands!
