68 Mustang Notchback (another one)
This car crossed my path this morning.
The car had recently arrived from Cape Town and I told the new owner that I would post some pictures on the forum and see if we can find any history of the car.
The car seems recently rebuilt, with very little use since and seems in great shape.
Apparently the engine is a 460FE, but what goes on inside, I have no idea.
The wheels are 15 x 8j with genuine knock off spinners. tyres are 245 x15 BFG's
Overall, the interior is in great shape. There are a few minor trim issues, but these will be easy to remedy.
I would appreciate, if anybody can tell me who did the restoration, maybe with a contact number as I need to find out exactly what was done.

You guys are sharp, picking up on the engine.
I just went with the info that the owner provided.
Will get into it and confirm for myself.

Re: 68 Mustang Notchback (another one)
Today, Christmas came early for us.
Saint Nick did not rock up in his red sleigh, but in a yellow VW Crafter.
(Yea DHL !!!)
The bag of toys were a bit too big to sling over a shoulder, so me and the elves carried it into the shop.
We have decided to change the image of the Mustang a bit.
The plan is to go for a slightly more elegant look than the wannabe Eleanore image it now has.
This is what my gifts looks like once in the shop.
Now for the opening of the presents.
I feel like the proverbial dog with two tails - one for wagging up and down and one for wagging side to side.
First to go is the bonnet. It will be replaced with a flat '68 bonnet from Dynacorn with a '67 hood scoop. Oh, yes, I also managed to source replacement gas struts for the billet hinges as well.
The interior with the embroidered leather upholstery will be redone with a complete black interior restoration kit that includes new seat foam and door panels and head liner.
The instrumentation will be replaced with a new black-faced digital '68 Mustang cluster from Dakota Digital with new wood grain instrument bezel.
I'll install power steering with a special billet power steering pump setup to match the existing alternator drive. Steering duties will be handled by a new Wood rim steering wheel.
For rolling stock, I have managed to get the wheels that I have lusted after for years. Year One's Magnum 500 17 inch staggered wheels
The car will be painted Ford Deep Impact Blue with a white C-Stripe kit.
To offset the dark colour, we have decided on some jewelry in the form of new stainless rain gutter trim, stainless wheel arch trim and new emblems all round.
So if any body is interested, we'll have the Eleanore bonnet for sale, in perfect condition as well as the 15" knockoffs with almost new BF Goodrich tyres.
I'll post these under a different heading at a later stage.

Great stuff man!!
Re: 68 Mustang Notchback (another one)
Today was like Christmas as I unpacked all the stuff that was delivered on Friday.
The first thing I needed to do was check out the Dakota Digital gauge cluster.
Seems like there was some assembly required.
This time I did RTFM, as I did not want to mess up the gauges.
I had ordered a new instrument bezel, so that made fitting the gauges much less of an issue.
I was rather chuffed with the new look.
As I had ordered a special power steering pump assembly, checking the fit was the next on the agenda.
As the alternator already had a poly-V belt installation done, I ordered a special kit only for the power steering.
Normally these are done for electric cooling fans, but we are keeping the manual fan, so I had the water pump pulley specially machined to accept the fan extension.
Again, it was a pleasure to assemble as everything fitted like the proverbial glove.
After having dropped off the new flat bonnet at the panel beater this afternoon, I feel that today was definitely not wasted.
