Forum going slowly down?
From 2007 until now it is sure an economic downhill for the forum as job losses, increase in food prices did damage to the forum. MANY old members are not active as use to be?
Some very active members R.I.P.!
I may be one not as active as I use to be, but I am still very busy with V8’s.
Time, work, money and family are taking spare time. Are we getting old?
Have we got any ideas from old members how to keep it strong?
Even the FORUM Boss is busy!
Time is money but the forum is important as it is help for many members!
Rassie.

Re: Forum going slowly down?
I am new-ish to the forum only on since 2010... But I've learned a lot and made good friends. I've even become off forum friends with many. I've had beers, visits, dinner etc with many. United in cars even when I give the Ford guys gears I khan still have a beer, appreciate their cars etc...
I don't have the answers... I like the forum & the Facebook page! And I've come along in my car fantasies in the 5 years.... yet ambition does not stop!

I must actually apologise for a lack of activity from my side, have taken on a slightly different job which is keeping me extremely busy.
I do read the forum daily though.

I still check the forum at least twice a day, but it is sign of the times. We are lucky enough to have kept the workshop reasonably busy, but our flywheel and brake skimming section is still going flat out. The guys are fixing their cars themselves but still require skimming.
I sold my '39 Ford but the Charger is still locked up gathering dust - yet the big boys are still spending money on new cars and SUV's as if they were buying meat pies.

Re: Forum going slowly down?
Think Facebook made a big impact on the forum. Not the AMC group but others like "Classic Cars and Parts for sale". But I still read all the posts in my free time and I really enjoy them. Ek is soos "Die Skim", niemand sien my nie maar ek is steeds hier. Found a few GT parts, so I will be looking for advice soon on prices etc.

Re: Forum going slowly down?
The last 2 years have been a very busy time for me due to a huge new project at work with a lot of travelling so I have had no time to work on my car but have also been making repair panels when time allows.
I do try to read the posts whenever I can but have not had much of interest to post here.
I think it will improve, there are many people with projects in the background that will start up again.

Re: Forum going slowly down?
It is not unusual for people to lose interest in Forums. This is true of most that I have belonged to and is very true for Facebook pages. I think people just grow tired of the same old thing, they eventually become repetitive.
