Henry Korkie, RIP

Post by zahistorics » Mon 03 Oct 2011, 23:51

All,

Just to let those of you who don't already know:

Henry Korkie (HenryK on this and other forums) is critically ill.

Rather than repeat things you can read more here: http://www.classiccarracers.co.za/forum ... =13&t=1219

May I suggest that those of you with messages for Henry direct them through Dirk van der Merwe or Louis Powell.

Lino has already done a great deal and delivered many messages, but he probably needs a breather right now.

Henry Korkie - farewell old friend

Post by peranaman » Fri 07 Oct 2011, 09:24

Just received the message that we were not wanting to hear, via Dirk Van Der Merwe, our friend Henry has sadly left us.

Feeling sad over here and I only knew Henry briefly from 2009. I'm sure all his other long time friends will be very saddened.

Thoughts are with family of course. Unless this thread is updated in the next few days by others, I will of course pass on any further news.

Chris in the UK.

RIP Henry. One of the genuine nice guys and a true enthusiast. Your love of all things Ford was awesome, yet your appreciation of other fine machinery was wonderful to see. Go well friend. Condolences to the family during these times.

Suppose many of you may have heard, but Henry Korkie, Escort Guru, past away this morning.

This is a very sad loss for the Ford community albeit.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family...

So very sad. Sympathies to Henry's family, his motoring 'family' and all of his friends.

A great loss. Henry was not only a very keen and extremely knowlegeable motosport enthusiast. He was more importantly a wonderful person.

I will miss you Henry.

We had so much to learn from Henry that one feels there is unfinished business. His willingness to share his knowledge will always be remembered and appreciated by many. Thank you so much Henry.

To his family and close friends, go my best wishes during this difficult time.

To a truly humble man with a wealth of knowledge about the past and present of motor racing, you will be greatly missed. Thanks for the interesting conversations we had with you, reminiscing about the past. Henry had such passion and enthusiasm for the sport. I will never forget his hand in the unveiling of the orignal Gough Escort a couple of years back, his love for those cars and the way he was so approachable when discussing the nitty gritty of the sport.

Henry, you have been released from the suffering and you have now been set free.

To his family and close friends go my heart felt condolences.

R.I.P. HenryK
