That Escort of Sarel's was a monster,I used to love watching it in action.I have some very nice original pictures from those days.I was at that particular corner when the famous crash happened.2 awsome cars destroyed,now what happened to the BMW of Ian Schecktor,and what happened to the GAA Cosworth V6 motor from the Escort.a replica of the car could be built

That's another sad story, apparently when the car got crushed the engine/s were sold off back to overseas buyers. The drivetrain and suspension components were used for Sarel's Cortina which competed in another class.
