If you don't come right with Laurie I have someone else you can use.
I've put a couple hundred kms on the clock... Run into some teething issues like a blown box, starter problems and a few other odds and ends like door handles and door rubbers.

Had the box rebuilt by Mark1 Auto and really impressed by his work. Truck is going down this week to have the ring gear replaced which should fix my starter issues.

Still haven't had much success with licensing so driving around on garage plates for now.

Concept Cars closed down, I'd taken my Chev to Royce to have him finish it off before they closed down though.

Overall, really happy with the final product.

Spent the day at the SAPS pound yesterday... System was offline so will be back next week.

New clocks from Dakota Digital have arrived plus a few other odds and ends so will hopefully get those fitted once the gas cap from Crafty B arrives.

Apologies for the lack of posts recently... been fighting a never-ending battle to get the Chev licensed and REALLY hoping someone on this forum can point me in the right direction!!

Took all the paperwork to the Licensing Department and were advised that we required an LOA. I confirmed with the guy at NRCS that it is a rebuild (Code 3) but that it falls outside of the VC8022 specification as it is a pre-1967 vehicle which he agreed upon but required confirmation from his technical committee following which a letter would be issued confirming same - this was in October 2017.

I was requested in November to provide a valuation certificate from a Classic Car Association verifying the year model to support my claim that it was a 1959 model which I did. I've been going back and forth since and was now informed today that my vehicle is in fact subjected to NRTA requirements and that an inspection is to be carried out with regards to this.

This is my first rebuild. Is anyone able to provide me with some guidance please. Is this the correct process, if so, can you provide me with the inspection criteria? If not, if anyone is able to assist with getting my vehicle licensed and on the road it would be greatly appreciated.

I've taken no shortcuts in this build and have been ripped off by several builders and find myself becoming extremely frustrated by the entire process. :(

Thanks in advance. I promise to post a few photos tomorrow of the bits and pieces we've been doing in the past few months. Once we've got the suspension and AC sorted she'll be off for a brand new spray job!!!

So this is an extract of the scope of the VC8022 specification that I've been told my 1959 vehicle is to be subjected to... wasn't sure how to upload the full PDF on the forum but it is available online.

I will honestly pay someone who does this regularly to do it for me. I don’t have the headspace nor the time for government department Red tape. If you are keen let me know, I’ll point you in the right directions
