Thanks Barry.. yeah I can say thanks to all the chancers, "would be" experts and the likes of such... resulting in me having to research, learn and roll my sleeves up. What I can say is when you do it yourself you do it the way you want it done, you dont take shortcuts and you use the best materials and products you can afford. Then there is the satisfaction of standing back and saying I/we did that.. (dont get me wrong I have some skilled guys helping me too !) For me the build gives me as much enjoyment as the end product and driving it.barrydorr wrote:I have to start learning how to do body work.
Nice to see a very productive long weekend! Looking good

Ok today we took the old floor out..
After a lot of research on the web, the idea is you need to support the car on all 4 jack points on the frame rails. Get the car 100% level and then you can remove the floor, unlike other cars the mustang is a unibody car meaning it does not have a separate chassis and the body and chassis are one. So its key you key you get the car all straight. square and level before you take the floor out and whilst replacing.
So this is how we look right now without the floor....
Next I need to get new front frame rails and work on the toe boards which is the area below the firewall.

Barry, yeah it was scary I wont lie.... but I am glad we did ! looking forward to having the floor and chassis perfect with no dings, scrapes and poorly positioned jack stand bends in the floor with it all detailed as per factory paint techniques of colours, overspray, sound deadener's etc
This is what i am aiming for... Will be a month or so and I think we should be done with installing floor then to paint..

I am sure that was 3times measure and then cut a bit and measure again....very well done. Love to see the progress on the floor. Keep us posted.

Bren it's your car, your money and your vision. I'm sure you will research ad nausea and in the end do what's right for you and why does the car justice.
I love Torque Thrusts, but they are common. And yes they make any car look 'prettier'
You need to start with the end vision in sight and there might be a few tweaks here and there.... Just don't get too caught up in the comments of others....

Thks, we did a bit more work on the lower front toe boards this weekend (the area below the firewall as it transition's into the floor) Also checking out the torque boxes which the mustangs have. All looked good, not much to show should have some nice pics next week of the structural side of the new floor rails, etc. Once thats all in the floor pan will be dropped in.
Need to get this stage right so we are moving slowly double checking and triple checking as you say !
