Underside of front engine compartment painted in DTM Selemix batch matched to Red oxide. Notice the grey circle, this is where the car was mounted on the assembly line and never got paint. There are numerous such mounting points on the car all detailed accordingly. Actually the rails were galvanised from the frame rail supplier so I still need to faux detail these areas to reflect a galvanised finish

Outside area of the inner frame rail where it meets the firewall. Notice factory correct seam sealer and how the paint starts to transition from red oxide to slow grey on the trans tunnel and body colour on the frame rail. Nothing here is masked as it should be.

Well thats how it looks right now, waiting for paint to cure for probably 1 -2 months maybe longer. Then we will polish. 3M have seen the project and have offered to get involved which I am stoked about..

Side rockers and pitch weld. The pics weld and bottom of the rockers still need to be painted matte black as per factory. Notice overspray of green going onto floor plan with a Dark Moss green mist.

Transition of engine satin black to body colour. Notice how the paint join Black to green is halfway across the plate/panel which is inline wit the firewall. Normally if we are painting the entire plate panel would be black or green. Also notice how its not a sharp edge join.

Door hinges were set with full glass and winders to add weight prior to paint. When removed doors rise by +-1/8". The reasoning is here the hinges an hinge bolts need to be set prior to paint so that there is no adjustment marks or cracks of paint on bolts etc. Also notice factory seam sealer on Door A panels.

Firewall transition from black to Red oxide. Its quite weird because from the trans cross member back it then transitions to slop grey, It took me 3 attempts to get this detail right wit back and forth with forum at concours mustang,

A pillar to shock tower transition. I made a small error here as I did not realise that from Shock tower forward it needs t be engine bay black so I need to paint that section black with a slight red oxide shock tower peeping out when done.

floor pan - notice how the trolly where the body is mounted is set away from the trolley we used a PVC pipe here to replicate the round dolly marks I mentioned to replicate the factory process, this will allow for a circle and a shadow to happen when painting the side rockers and overspray will naturally follow strongly on the outside and a light shadow on the inside once we remove the frame and PCV pipe inserts.
